FED: Toshiba blames HD DVD failure on studios, internet

SYDNEY, Feb 20 AAP - Digital downloads, deserting movie studios and poor sales are
being blamed by Toshiba for the failure of HD DVD.

The Japanese electronics company has announced it will discontinue the manufacture of HD DVD.

The high definition format suffered several setbacks in the past few months, including
the decision by film studio Warner Bros to exclusively support the competing high definition
DVD disc format - Blu-ray.
