NT: Darwin looks forward to Anzac celebration without Monica

The Northern Territory's determined to celebrate Anzac Day in style after missing out
last year .. as Cyclone Monica forced communities indoors.

Winds of up to 350 kilometres an hour hit Maningrida .. in the far north of the Top
End .. but Darwin was spared a repeat of Cyclone Tracy which devastated the city in 1974.

A small group .. who braved the weather at the Darwin Cenotaph at dawn last year ..

will gather again tomorrow to see the sun rise .. although this time they'll be joined
by hundreds more under clear skies.

Brigadier CRAIG ORME says Anzac Day is an opportunity for Territorians to get together
and reflect on the sacrifices made by Australian soldiers.
