Fed: Baulderstone payment affair a "disgrace", union leader
MELBOURNE, Feb 28 AAP - A union leader has branded construction giant BaulderstoneHornibrook's move to pay middle men $250,000 to negotiate industrial peace on a city siteas "absurd" and "a disgrace".
Electrical Trades Union Victorian secretary Dean Mighell today told the constructionindustry royal commission the Baulderstone affair, involving reputed underworld figuressaid to use standover tactics, had tarnished his reputation after 14 years as a unionofficial.
